What a session looks like

Each appointment blends acupuncture, moxibustion and shiatsu as your body needs. Treatment follows what Hideshi finds through Japanese diagnostic methods.

What Hideshi Offers

Three modalities, one tailored session

Hideshi is trained in three Japanese modalities and draws on all of them within a single session, choosing the blend that is required for your needs.

Acupuncture

The insertion of very fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body. In the Japanese tradition the needles are exceptionally thin and inserted shallowly through a small guide tube, so most patients feel little to nothing. Acupuncture works by stimulating these points to encourage the body’s own regulatory and healing responses, and is one of the most widely practised forms of traditional medicine in the world.

Moxibustion

The warming of specific points on the body with smouldering mugwort, a herb known as moxa. The dried mugwort is burned close to the skin, in tiny amounts on the skin or on the end of an acupuncture needle, so that a gentle, penetrating heat reaches the point. Practised across Japan, China and Korea for over two thousand years, moxibustion is often used alongside acupuncture to warm the body and support circulation.

Shiatsu

A Japanese form of bodywork whose name means “finger pressure”. The practitioner applies steady, rhythmic pressure with thumbs, fingers and palms along the body’s channels, leaning in with their body weight rather than rubbing or kneading. Recognised by Japan’s Ministry of Health as a distinct therapeutic practice, shiatsu eases tension and supports overall wellbeing.
